Watching a rocket launch never gets old, just ask any local. Experience what the Space Coast is known for with these awe-inspiring and majestic sights up close at one of Cocoa Beach’s top viewing spots, from the Cocoa Beach Pier to even nearby Kennedy Space Center.
3. Surfing days of old
Stop by the Florida Surf Museum next to Ron Jon Surf Shop where you will get an inside look at the history of all things surfing and experience the heritage and traditions here in Cocoa Beach.
4. Hometown Hero Up Close
Get your camera ready for a photo-op in honor of Cocoa Beach’s hometown hero, Kelly Slater. Located at the entrance of Downtown Cocoa Beach, where A1A splits, is a life size sculpture by local artist Tasha Drazich of the 11-time world title champion.

Take a stroll in Downtown Cocoa Beach and discover the murals painted on buildings. With more then 5 creations to view from artists who are known around the world for their work, you’ll get to experience one-of-a-kind designs as you peruse the shops and dining options.

Located in the heart of Cocoa Village, just 10 minutes from Cocoa Beach, Riverfront Park is an open space where you can find kids and adults alike running through the fountains, throwing Frisbees, and swinging and sliding at the playground. This is a place where you can easily bring a picnic basket and enjoy the outdoors, soak up the sun, and not worry about tracking sand all in the car.
7. Calling all nature enthusiasts
Located in the heart of Cocoa Beach, the Maritime Hammock Preserve is a 2.8-mile loop trail perfect for nature enthusiasts to explore the diverse natural habitats.
8. Take a Look into the Past
The Brevard Veterans Memorial Center in Merritt Island is just a short drive from Cocoa Beach. With an amazing array of military artifacts ranging from the Revolutionary War to the most recent conflicts in the Middle East, this museum strives to educate the public on military efforts both past and present.
9. Reel in the big catch of the day
There is year-round fishing here in Cocoa beach and with over 500 species of fish, whether you are fishing for the pure love of the sport and enjoy a good catch and release or if you’re scouting for your next meal, you are bound to catch something. Maybe it will be your biggest one yet.
